About me

I am currently employed as a Graphic Design Consultant at the City of Marion. In this role I am responsible for providing design services and creative advice to the Communications and Marketing & Engagement units, working with multiple stakeholders within the City of Marion. 

My work at the City of Marion includes designing from concept to finished artwork a broad range of printed assets such as brochures, flyers, posters, banners, signage and the City of Marion’s City Limits; a bi-monthy public facing magazine. I am also responsible for creating digital assets including social media posts, videos, animations, motion graphics, email graphics and e-newsletters as well as updating and creating website banners on the City of Marion’s website. I have also recently updated and refined the style and branding guides for City of Marion, ensuring all digital and print assets designed and produced, reflect the City of Marion’s look and brand across the organisation and meet the needs of the customers.


Working closely with the Communications and Marketing & Engagement units I have been part of all stages of City of Marion marketing campaigns from concept to realisation. One such example was the creation of engaging visual materials to support the recent Garden Showcase campaign. Further examples are the upcoming Marion 100 campaign, which required a wide range of varied collateral for multiple communication channels and the City of Marion’s rollout of the kitchen caddy, which included working collaboratively with Green Industries to create a range of print and digital assets to help communicate to and engage the City of Marion’s community.

Prior to this role I had an extensive career as a designer at News Corp Australia culminating with roles as Chief Designer for Adelaide Matters magazine, Messenger Newspapers and being part of a creative team responsible for generating the visual component and layout of The Advertiser’s flagship publications. I was also part of the team working on the lift-outs and magazines within The Advertiser and Sunday Mail. 

I have recently expanded my skillset with a Digital Marketing course with RMIT. This covered developing an effective online marketing plan for maximum cut-through and evaluating the fundamentals of effective SEO and SEM among many other facets of marketing. Consequently I have expanded my visual communications services to include business marketing, creating templates and content for social media platforms and advising on marketing gateways and metrics for assesing the success of those actions. I am experienced in applying styleguide stipulations, ensuring corporate collateral has representative consistency to create a strong and readily recognisable presence.

​​My extensive experience has given me high proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, including, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Acrobat as well as Microsoft Office along with numerous additional visual communications programs such as Premiere Pro, on Mac or PC, for print and digital. I have also worked on photo-shoots and captured and edited video and audio for advertising and marketing collateral. I am also experienced in stochastic keyframing, lighting, colour grading and appropriate output for multiple formats.


I have also produced a considerable body of freelance work, having been involved with building and maintaining websites in various CMS and working on numerous projects developing creative solutions for clients in both print and digital realms. I have recently been creating animated email signatures and promotional videos for small business social media accounts and their websites. My experience has ensured that I have the ability to work autonomously and project manage tasks from start to finish to achieve successful outcomes.
